Mrs. Swords

Welcome to another wonderful and exciting school year!  I look forward to being in contact with you throughout the year.  To help you learn more about me, I’ll share some information about myself with you.  I graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Education, Reading Specialist K-12 certification.  I also have experience working in elementary and Montessori schools to enrich reading and Spanish vocabulary programs.  I am a new resident to this area with my husband and Shih Tzu dog, Daphne.

My family is full of educators!  I have an aunt who teaches at Shippensburg University, another aunt who teaches high school child care classes, and a sister who is just beginning her teaching career as a middle school English teacher.  Hopefully, we will be in touch with my sister’s class throughout the year to see what they are up to and learning.

In my spare time, my favorite things to do are walk my dog, read science fiction and biographies, listen to all kinds of music and go to concerts, write poetry, watch football, spend time with my family, and collect post cards to send to my family.  Most of my family lives in Pennsylvania, so we keep in touch as much as possible through texting, instant messaging, phone calls, and post cards!

I have developed a class website here for us to keep in touch between school and home.  The students will help me compile our newsletters to keep families updated on activities and achievements.  I look forward to getting to know all of you as our year progresses.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have by emailing me at tiffanyswords@mac.com.  Again, welcome and be ready for a successful school year!
